One strap, three jobs. The Shadow Convertible Cuffs wear as a bracelet on an ordinary day, loop through the center O-ring to form cross cuffs that bind both wrists, or buckle around the neck as a day collar. The design shifts with the mood, which makes it a genuinely practical first piece if you are building a collection slowly.
The construction is black faux leather with a soft interior lining and polished silver hardware. Adjustment covers wrists from 5 to 9 inches or necks up to 18 inches, a range broad enough to work across bodies and configurations without buying three separate items.
To make cross cuffs, feed the strap through the central O-ring so it forms two linked loops. Wipe with a damp cloth and store flat.
Educator's Note: Each configuration has its own considerations, so it is worth separating them. As wrist cuffs, use the two-finger rule and watch for numbness, tingling, or hands going cold, since the wrist has nerves close to the surface. Cross cuffs limit hand movement more than a chained pair do, so check that your partner can still shift position and that nothing is pressing into the bone on the inside of the wrist. As a collar, it should never restrict breathing or swallowing, and two fingers of clearance is the same standard. Whichever way you are wearing it, know how the buckle releases before anyone is in it, and do not leave someone restrained alone.
