Black on black, silver hardware, no ornament. The Shadow Collar and Leash takes the opposite approach to the rest of the Sex & Mischief line, stripping out the color and the fur and leaving something that says what it means without decorating it.
The collar is faux leather with a soft interior lining, which is the difference between a collar you can wear for an evening and one you take off after twenty minutes. It closes with an adjustable buckle rather than snaps, so the fit is precise rather than approximate.
The leash detaches, which means the collar stands alone whenever you want it to. Wipe both pieces with a damp cloth and hang the set rather than coiling the leash tightly around the collar.
Educator's Note: A leash is for communicating direction, not applying force. Pulling forward on a front-clipped leash puts pressure on the throat, which is not what this collar is built to do. Keep slack in the line and guide from the side so the signal is felt rather than forced. Fit the collar so two fingers slide underneath easily, and check that your partner can swallow and speak normally once it is buckled. When you are moving together, go slowly, because the person being led cannot see where you are steering. Set a non-verbal stop signal before you start, and never leave someone tethered or leashed and alone.
